Thomas William Womack

Thomas Womack, 86, walked into Heaven on Saturday, January 27, 2024. He lived to a good old age and was full of years when he said his final goodbyes.

His greatest joy came from working in his yard and pulling weeds. He could often be found on his mower in his overalls tending to the care of his home. He loved the simple things in life – a thoughtful conversation, time on the porch, a good game of golf, and a long cigar.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Sheila. Together they had three children; daughter, Marsha Johnson and husband Steve, son, Brian Womack, and daughter, Kim Stanford and husband Brent. He was blessed with five wonderful grandchildren, Dustin Johnson and wife Tara, Seth Johnson and wife Lyndsay, Sady Johnson and husband Mitch, Jacob Stanford and wife Autum and Luke Stanford. His cup overflowed with 10 great grandchildren.

While Thomas often doubted the authenticity of earthly things like the moon landing and the outcome of government elections, he never doubted that salvation and an abundant life come straight from our Heavenly Father.

We know that he is healed and free as he strolls around Heaven looking for a yard to mow.

He proudly served his country in the United States Army and will be laid to rest at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery on Tuesday, February 6, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. A viewing will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Monday, February 5, 2024, at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Whitney.
