Tim Zawerucha

Tim Zawerucha, 68, passed away on November 18, 2017 in Waco. The family will hold a memorial service at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, November 25, 2017, at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, Whitney, TX with Brother Jerome Cranfill officiating.

He was born in Long Beach, California on September 4, 1949. Tim married the love his life, Kitty, in Santa Rosa, California on October 4, 1974. They recently celebrated their 43rd wedding anniversary. Tim retired from TXDot in Midland, TX after 26 years of service.

The most important day of Tim’s life was when he dedicated his life in baptism to Jehovah on November 11, 1973. Tim loved serving Jehovah and any service that Tim could provide big or small he was happy to do. This love for Jehovah led him and his wife to Texas in 1977 where they served congregations in Pecos and Midland and eventually in Whitney for the last 8 years. Tim helped to build kingdom halls across the western part of Texas where he was known as Tim the Tea Man.

Tim will be remembered for his thoughtfulness, his kindness and his giving heart. There are many people whose day was brightened by a card in the mail, a piece of candy, or a sheet of stickers from Tim. He always found a way to put others first. When he wasn’t spending his free time fishing on the lake, he was crocheting beautiful blankets he could give to those around him. Tim’s life was like the blankets he made - he did many small stitches of kindness that turned into a beautiful and meaningful life.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Joyce Welsh Zawerucha; his father, Ron H. Zawerucha; and a nephew Jamey.

Tim is survived by his wife, Kitty Magrath Zawerucha; his sister, Julie Moerls and husband, Steve, from Laguna Park.
