Tommie Bean

Tommie O. Bean, 90, of Hillsboro died Wednesday, January 12, 2011, at Town Hall Estates Nursing Home in Hillsboro.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, January 17, 2011, at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Hillsboro with Pastor Phil Hunt officiating. Interment will follow at Ridge Park Cemetery in Hillsboro. Visitation will be from 4:00-6:00 P.M. Sunday, January 16, 2011, at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors in Hillsboro.

Tommie was born July 20, 1920 in Pursley, TX the daughter of Homer Owen and Tommie Otina (Wallace) Anderson, Sr. She lived in Hillsboro most of her life and attended Westminister College. She worked as a seamstress and also worked as a nurses aide at the state school in Mexia and at Town Hall in Hillsboro.

Tommie was a warm and giving person, taking care of everyone else before herself. She was a sweet grandma. She was a member of Grace City Church in Hillsboro.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, William Ace Bean; daughter, Sherry Vest; and brother, Owen Anderson.

Survivors include her daughter, Theda Pevehouse of Mexia; former son-in-law, Dewey Strickland of Enid, OK; two grandchildren, Kellie Perry of Marlin and Connie Perry of Texas City; five great-grandchildren, Elexxus Ipsen, Leyla Ipsen, Shy Ann Ipsen, Michael Ipsen, and Christina Valdez; and two cousins.
