Tommy Holbrook, 65, of Whitney passed away on Monday, July 23, 2007 in Houston. Tommy was born on April 29, 1942 in San Angelo to Alvin and Louise Hawes Holbrook. He grew up in Ballinger and graduated from Ballinger High School. On September 1, 1961, he married Linda Lee. He graduated from Tarleton State College and Southwest Texas State University where he played football. He then received his master?s from Southwest Texas State University. He taught and coached in Pearsall for four years. He also taught, coached and was an administrator at La Vega for 27 years, retiring in 1995. He moved to White Bluff where he was P.O.A. Director and retired in 2003. He was instrumental in forming the Open Range Cowboy Church where he served as Elder and Lay Pastor. He was a member of Open Range Cowboy Church and a member of White Bluff Volunteer Fire Dept. and an assistant Chief. Survivors include his wife, Linda of Whitney; children, Terri Holbrook of Villanova, PA., Robert Holbrook and wife, Denise of Granbury, Kim Stahr and husband, Richard of Warwick, N. Y.; sisters, LaNell Coltharp and husband Art of Austin, Barbara Paul and husband, Don of Austin; grandchildren, Jessica and Adam Stahr and Jake and Tyler Holbrook.
