Tommy Mccool , Sr

Tommy McCool, Sr., 82, of Whitney, passed away on Friday, September 5, 2014. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, September 7,. 2014, at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Whitney, with Tommy McCool, Jr. and Rev. Alan Berrio, officiating. Burial will follow at Bethlehem Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6-8 PM, Saturday, September 6, 2014, at the funeral home.

Tommy was born in Anderson County, Texas on May 30, 1932, to Willie Lee and Lillie Mae (Howard) McCool. On April 30, 1960, he married Maudie Lee Sneed and she preceded him in death on October 17, 2007. He worked for A-Brandt Furniture in Fort Worth and Towne Square Furniture in Hillsboro from which he retired in 2004. He was a member of Missionary Baptist Church of Whitney.

He enjoyed squirrel hunting, fishing and gardening, wood working and especially building furniture, which he was always giving away.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother and 2 sisters.

He is survived by children, Jessie Sneed, Mary (Susie) Goff and husband, Vance, Tommy McCool, Jr and wife Regina and Mary McCool; a brother, W.L. McCool,; sisters, Velma Pelham, Tassie Good, Rachael Kunkel and husband, Edwin, and Pearl Ince; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
