Tommy James Walker passed away January 6, 2009 at Park Plaza Nursing Home in Whitney. He was the son of Henry and Lillian Walker. His family moved to Arlington in 1947 where he lived most of his life graduating from Arlington High School and attending Arlington State College. He proudly served in the navy during the Korean War. He married LaNeda Anne Burch on March 9th, 1957. He retired after 32 years with Texas Commerce Bank in Arlington as loan officer and vice president. In 1987 he moved to Aquilla. He served on executive committee for Central Texas Economic Development District and as advisory director for First National Bank in Whitney. He was president an on executive committee with Heart of Texas Council of Government. He was with Heart Properties and Lake Whitney Land and Realty before being appointed the 22nd Hill County Judge in 1991 - 1998. He was a certified police officer and volunteered for several years. He was a charter member of St. Stephens Methodist Church in Arlington and attended First Baptist Church in Whitney. He was a member of Arlington Jaycees for 13 years and Arlington Lions Club for 22 years where he received the distinguished service award. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, James Henry Walker, Jr. missing in action during World War II. Survivors include his wife, Anne; son, Brian Ray, of Cayuga, Texas; two sisters, Sue Coleman of Burleson, Sharon Blakney and husband, Jeff of Arlington; four nieces, Tana Beth Bradshaw, Kathy Cullen, Karen Blakney, LeeAnn English; four nephews, Jay Lynn Blakney, Randy Burch, Stephen English, Andrew Cullen; four great nieces and two great nephews.
