Tony Taylor, Sr

Tony Lane Taylor, Sr., 56, of Whitney passed away on Saturday, November 24, 2018 at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, November 29, 2018 at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors in Whitney with Rev. Shane Metcalf officiating. A visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Tony was born on September 30, 1962, in Concord, North Carolina. A truck driver for over 30 years, he lived in North Carolina and Florida until he found his permanent residence in Whitney, Texas. When he was not working on the road he did his other favorite hobby which was work. He worked on and fixed any and everything there was. As his wife, Tammy called it, he “piddled.”

He was an amazing man who had a heart to help anyone. He loved his wife of 33 years, his children, his grand-kids, his animals-especially his pit bull, Lucy, and welding. Even though his wife said he was stubborn, that was how he liked it.

He is survived by his wife, Tammy Taylor, his mother, Willie Taylor of North Carolina and his father, Ray Taylor of Florida; his children, Brittany Johnson and husband, Keyone of Whitney, Tony Taylor, Jr and wife, Sophia Schepers also of Whitney; 10 grandchildren, Angelina Johnson, Keyone Johnson, Jr., Corbin Ellyson, Braden Wohleb, Torin Johnson, Lane Taylor, Mekijah Johnson, Camden Taylor, Ryder Johnson and Trevor Taylor; a brother, Doug Taylor and wife, Betsy of North Carolina; sisters, Tammy Barnett Taylor and Michelle Taylor Holton and husband, Terry, all of Florida; mother-in-law, Judy Honecutt of North Carolina and sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Donna and James Allmon.
