Travis Tommy Thomas, 74 of Clifton passed away on August 23, 2009 in Waco, Texas. Tommy was born on January 20, 1935 in Bosque County, Texas to the late Sidney and Maudie Moore Thomas. He grew up in Bosque County and attended school in Walling Bend, Iredell and Meridian. Tommy moved to Dallas in 1955 and on April 21, 1956 he married Nelda Joyce Miller in Aquilla, Texas. They lived in the Metroplex for 40 years before moving back to Bosque County near Lake Whitney. During that time he worked for Darr Equipment, Rath Packing and International Harverster where he retired after 30 years of service. He was a member of Prairie Valley Baptist Church where he had served as a Sunday School teacher and formerly Sheppard Drive Baptist Church in Euless. He was president of the International Harvesters Credit Union for several years and a member of the United Auto Workers Union for 30 years. He also donated endlessly to the Boys and Girls Clubs of America. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, especially in his youth. He was very active working tirelessly even after retirement to provide for his family. Also preceding him in death were his brother, Rayburn; nephew, Johnny and uncle Roy. Survivors include his wife, Nelda of Clifton; children, Timothy K. Thomas of Fort Worth, Samuel Troy Thomas and wife, Tiffany of Lovelady and granddaughter, Melissa Carr whom he raised as a daughter and her husband, Josh of Venus; brothers, Elmoe Thomas and wife, Joann of Whitney, James Thomas of Covington, Jackie Thomas and wife, Sarah of Whitney; sisters, Ladean Hill of Whitney, Helen Wagner of Euless, Jimmie Ashley of Whitney, Mary Sue Brooks and husband, Welborn of Whitney; sister-in-law, Sue Thomas of Whitney; grandchildren, Nick Peters, Taylor and Ashley Thomas, Tabatha Ruiz, Alex Gomez; great grandchildren, Sydney and Deacon Carr; numerous nieces and nephews.
