Travis Waits, 96, of Hillsboro passed away Sunday, December 27, 2015, at Town Hall Estates Nursing Home in Hillsboro. No services are scheduled.
Born on April 10, 1919 in Hill County, Travis was the son of Clarence Sidney and Lillie Mae (Hawk) Waits. He was united in marriage to Frances DeGraffenreid on July 9, 1938 in Whitney. A native and life-long resident of Hill County, Travis was employed for a number of years at Hollywood Manufacturing in Hillsboro. He later worked for the Texas Department of Transportation for more than 20 years until his retirement. For several years after his retirement, he enjoyed repairing lawn mowers. He had loyal repair customers from near and far. Also during his retirement years, Travis enjoyed taking in garage sales just to see what he might find. He was of the Baptist faith.
Preceding him in death were his parents; wife, Frances Waits on October 1, 2008; two sons, William Travis Waits and Ronald Gene Waits; five brothers; and one sister.
Survivors include two daughters, Leona Lucille Waits and Joyce Thomas, both of Hillsboro; 11 grandchildren; and many great and great-great grandchildren.
