Troy Lewis

Troy Fred Lewis, 83, of Whitney died Tuesday, November 20, 2007, at Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center in Waco. Troy was born April 17, 1924 in Bethel Community, Hill County, Texas the son of J. Frank and Fannie McMurray Lewis. On September 19, 1944 he married Ruby Lee Stringer and she preceded him in death on February 6, 2004. He later married Barbara Christoferson on June 24, 2006. An avid woodworker, he also enjoyed fishing, gardening, and raising pecans. He was a member of Walnut Street Baptist Church in Hillsboro and a self-employed carpenter. Also preceding him in death were his parents. Survivors include his wife, Barbara Lewis of Whitney; son, Fred Lewis and wife, Micki, of McKinney; step-children, Larry Teakell and wife, Jana, of Waco, Suzanne Gasian and husband, Floyd, of Texas City, Joyce Gilbert and husband, Ray, of Berthoud, Colorado, Janie Freels of Malone, and Virginia Breaux and husband, Andre, of San Antonio; granddaughter, Ginni Gamble and husband, John, of Savannah, TX; and numerous step-grandchildren.
