Ural Burkhaulter

Biography: He was the son of Thomas Andrew and Emma Bird Jackson Burkhaulter. He grew up in and attended school in Rising Star. He married Maurine Elliott Burnett on May 9, 1942 and she preceded him in death on Jan. 15, 2007. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII in the Pacific Theater. He worked many years in the construction business and helped build the Whitney Dam. He worked for Flowers Construction and then owned a fishing and bait store before retiring. He was a member of the First Pentecostal Church of Hillsboro.
