Van Frazier

Robert Avander (Van) Frazier, Sr., 75, of Hillsboro, passed away Saturday, October 29, 2022, at home.  Graveside Services will be held at 1:00 pm, Monday, November 7, 2022, at Ridge Park Cemetery in Hillsboro with Pastor Claude Woods of Hillsboro officiating.  Visitation will take place preceding the service from 11:00am to 12:00pm, at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors in Hillsboro.

Born July 18, 1947, in Temple, Texas, to Kenneth Fredrick and Zelda (Smith) Frazier, Van served in the Air Borne National Guard. He and Paulla, his wife of nearly fifty-four years, enjoyed playing couples golf.   Playing golf was their passion and they loved playing in tournaments.  He also enjoyed many vacations with his children and grandchildren.  Van took great joy in aggravating people, but he was a great husband, father and grandfather.  He loved his family so much, he fought hard to stay with them.  Van was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Hillsboro.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth Fredrick and Zelda (Smith) Frazier; his brother, Ted Randall Frazier; his special mother-in-law and Nanny, Paulla Fair.  Survivors include his wife, Paulla Frazier; his children, Robert Avander Frazier, Jr. and wife, Laura of Round Rock, Texas, and Lisa Anne Soward of Grandview, Texas; his brother, Kent West and wife Katie; his twin sister, Julie Kay Frazier; his grandchildren, Lola Anne Soward, Stella Rose Soward, Amos Soward, and Ava Kathryn Frazier; and his beloved pets, Mattie and Milo.
