Vanessa Eileen (Faulkner) Meyer

Vanessa Eileen (Faulkner) Meyer, 52, of Whitney, Texas, passed away July 1, 2023, at her home. Graveside services will take place at 10:00am, Friday, July 7, 2023, at Bethlehem Cemetery in Whitney, Texas. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00pm, Thursday, July 6, 2023, at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors, Whitney, Texas.

Vanessa was born January 8, 1971, in Whitney, to Ellis Pickering Faulkner, Jr. and Patricia Ann (Patton) Faulkner. She was well known in Whitney for her work at David’s Supermarket, where she was bookkeeper and Temporary Manager. Vanessa worked as a loan secretary at First Bank and Trust from 2014 until she retired in 2022. She was an active member of the Whitney Chamber of Commerce from 2016 to 2020 and served as president in 2019. Vanessa was of the Baptist faith and a member of First Baptist Whitney and Eastside Baptist in Lawton, Oklahoma. She also served on the Board of Directors of the Whitney Area Museum.

Vanessa is preceded in death by her mother, Patricia Ann Faulkner; her brother-in-law, Douglas Mash; her grandparents, Ellis Faulkner, Sr., Audrey Faulkner, and Irene Patton. She is survived by her father, Ellis Faulkner, Jr.; her children, Edmund Meyer and Cameron Faulkner; her brother, Jeffrey Faulkner; her sister, Valerie Mash; her granddaughter, Milli Eileen Meyer; her niece, Rebekah Mash; her nephew, Brian Pierce; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Memorials may be made to the Cancer Garden in Humbolt, Nebraska.
