Vernon Knox Miller, 82 of Whitney passed away on August 30, 2011 in Waco.
Memorial services will be held on Friday, September 9, 2011 at 10:00 AM at the Sun Country Chapel in Whitney.
Vernon was born on July 28, 1929 in Ponca City, Oklahoma; the son of the late James Knox and Verna Mae (Shupe) Miller. He served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean War from 1948 - 1952. On December 25, 1952, he married Edith M. Bulen. Vernon had worked for the National Weather Service and retired in 1995. A member of the American Legion and the National Rifle Association, he also enjoyed traveling. His family and church were his life.
He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Verdonna Miller.
Survivors include is wife, Edith “Marge Miller of Whitney; children, Janet Miller of Whitney,
Gregory Scott Miller and wife, Cyndi of Willis; sisters, Joyce Parrish of Tishomingo, OK., Arlene James of Sulphur, OK; 6 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
