Vernon Sonnenberg

Vernon Sonnenberg, 91, of Malone passed away on October 19, 2007 in Hillsboro. He was the son of Albert and Freida Radke Sonnenburg. During World War II and the Korean Conflict, he served his country in the United States Navy. On November 23, 1937 he married Erna Boortz and she preceded him in death on April 25, 1959. He was a dorm supervisor at the Mexia State School and a member of St. Peters Lutheran Church in Malone. Also preceding him in death were his parents; two grandchildren, Robert D. Sonnenberg and Crystal Sonnenberg Rogers. Survivors include his children, Charlene Mann and husband, Deryl, of Mesquite; Vernon ?Pete? Sonnenberg and wife, Becky, of Rockport; 2 brothers, Allen Sonnenburg of Itasca, Dennis Sonnenburg of Brandon; sister, Nelda Hoover of Waco; 3 grandchildren, Melissa Mann, Paula Loftis, and Darren Mann; 2 great-grandchildren, Rebecca and Jeremy Rogers.
