Vickie Marie Clinkscales of Hillsboro, Loving Wife, Mother and Grandmother peacefully graduated to Her Heavenly home Saturday 28, 2023 surrounded by her blessed family. Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 11, 2023, at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors, 2495 Corsicana Highway, Hillsboro, Texas.
Vickie was born October 26, 1951, in Hillsboro, Texas to Willian Homer and Nell Ruth (Strange) Dalton. During her high school years, she met the love of her life Doak Walker Clinkscales. They have shared over 53 years of marriage and raised three fine sons. Living mostly in Texas, they had the opportunity to live coast to coast and a couple of places in between. Vickie made sure each place was their home.
MeMo, as the grandchildren called her, is and always will be the inspiration, the heart of her family. Kind and gentle ways flowed from her to family, friends, and those that had the pleasure of meeting her. Vickie loved life and it reflected in her smile, her home, and her laugh. She loved being a homemaker and would often say "I get to play house today" and she certainly made the best of what she had to make her home so comfortable and inviting to all who entered.
Vickie loves the Lord, praising his name all through her battle. Vickie has always had child-like faith. She would express often “Jesus loves me this I know.” She is a warrior and never once complained "why me?" She is a true example of God's love and grace. Vickie through this fight is Wonderfully healed in every way!
Her parents and her dearest pets Anne, Maggie, and Buddy preceded Vickie in going home. She is survived by her Husband Doak; her three boys, Scott, Jeffery and Ben Clinkscales; three daughters-in-law, Julissa, Jennifer and Cherise; eight grandchildren, Alyssa, Wyatt, Dustin (Gina), Ricky (Kori), Justin, Hallie; two step-grandchildren Jacob and Jordan Ashley; two great-grandchildren, Lotus and Tallulah Rose; her brother, Mike Dalton; and sister, Cindy Kent.
In place of flowers or notes of sympathy, the family asks that you spread love to one another, smile at a stranger and enjoy the simple things. Give the gift of time and attention and listen with an open heart.
Special thanks to Community Hospice and all who prayed, visited and encouraged her. Thank you also to the Marshall and Marshall staff.
