Virginia Hayward, 90, of Hillsboro died Saturday, February 28, 2009, at Trinity Mission Health & Rehab in Italy. Virginia was born August 10, 1918 in Webster Township, Ohio the daughter of Chauncey and Cora Myerholtz Phillips. On June 20, 1936 she married Kenneth Hayward and he preceded her in death on April 9, 1978. In 1983 she retired as an office manger from Fred Chambers. She was a beautiful quilt maker who enjoyed flower gardening. She sang in the church choir in Ohio and sang for many funerals. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Hillsboro. Also preceding her in death were her parents; son, Ronald Lee Hayward; and two brothers, Wendell Phillips and Roger Lowell Phillips. Survivors include her son, Larry Hayward and wife, Ann, of Hillsboro; sister, June Becker of Pemberville, Ohio; seven grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren.
