Virginia Marie Frank Scott, 89, of Blum, passed away on August 12, 2015 at home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, August 15, 2015, at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors in Whitney with Rev. Colton Yarbro of Cedar Creek Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Heath Cemetery near Whitney. Visitation will be from 6:00 - 8:00 PM., Friday, August 14, 2015 at the funeral home.

Virginia was born on January 23, 1926, in Hill County, to Ben and Myrtle (Connolly) Frank. On November 29, 1945, she married A.L. Scott and he preceded her in death on September 30, 1995. She worked as a beautician in Whitney for many years. An avid gardener, flowers and vegetables were her specialty. Her family and friends knew her as an excellent cook and quilter and homemaker.

As a very faithful member of Cedar Creek Baptist Church, she served as secretary and was a very strong Christian role model for her family and friends. She was also a member of the Blum Eastern Star.

Preceding her in death were her parents; daughter, Karen Scott Ward on August 4, 2002; 2 brothers, Connolly Frank and Kendell “Shorty” Frank; 2 sisters, Oleta Epps and Audrey Faulkner.

Survivors include her daughter, Lee Ann Shipps and husband, Ray of DeLeon; a son-in-law, Billy Ward of Morgan; grandchildren, Diana Ward of Waco, LaDonna Jean and husband, Dean, of Blum, Sandy Pool and husband, Anthony of Keller, Carrie Sackett and husband, John of Morgan Mill; 6 great-grandchildren, Scott Pool and Whitney Paige Pool of Abilene, Kalynn Bruce and husband, D.J., of Cleburne, Kaydee Jean and Jacob Jean of Blum, and Codie Rae Sackett of Morgan Mill; a great-great-grandson, Weston Bruce of Cleburne; sisters, Grace Scott of Blum and Anna Ruth Marsh of Whitney; a brother-in-law, Billy Scott and wife, Jean of Whitney and a sister-in-law, Ethel Arnold and husband, Bobby of Hurst; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
