Virginia "Gin" Marie Spicer

The angels came to take Gin to paradise on Friday, September 22. Mickey and her brother Carl were by her side when she left.

Gin was born on Thursday, October 30, 1947, in Gafton, West Virginia to George Lee and Mary Frank Plymale. She was the oldest of their 4 children. She had one Brother, Carl and two sisters, Sharon and Karen. She grew up in Brunswick, Ohio and graduated from the local High School. Her first job as a teenager was at Sears and Roebuck in Customer Service. Later in life, she then went to cosmetology school. Gin loved being a beautician and had a passion for it!  She loved making women feel beautiful! How did she meet Mickey? According to Gin, she met Mickey Spicer while working in Keller as a hairdresser, but according to Mickey, they really met after she was hit on the head by a rock that was thrown by a lawnmower, and he came to her rescue. Either way they still got married on March 15, 1982, and lived In Keller. They had been married for 41 years. And oh, what an adventure they had. They either remodeled or built 11 homes and she loved decorating them. Sharon, her sister, spoke of how much fun they had shopping for interior bargains. Gin loved the farm and farm animals. She and Mickey owned several ranches during their lifetime together. But her passion was for pot belly pigs and raised several. She loved potbelly pigs almost as much as being a hairdresser. Gin and Mickey’s life took a drastic turn when Gin was found to have a brain tumor. She underwent surgery to remove the tumor but never fully regained her health. She had been homebound for almost 11 years. Mickey was very faithful in trying to take care of her. She was a faithful member of the Whitney Church of Christ.
