Vivian Yvonne Lohse, 83, of Hillsboro passed away Friday, August 16, 2019, in a Waco hospital. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 23, 2019, at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Hillsboro with Rev. Darrel Beggs officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Waco, at 2:00p.m. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Thursday, August 22, at the funeral home.
Vivian was born November 13, 1935, in Corpus Christi, to Chester A. and Bertha Mae (Hendrick) Russell. She grew up and graduated high school in Sinton. On August 18, 1955, she united in marriage to Stanley Lohse at the First Baptist Church in Sinton. She worked for HEB while Stanley was in seminary. Later, she worked for the telephone company in the drafting department. After Stanley finished seminary, they moved to Markham where she then worked part time for the Red Cross. Stanley and Vivian pastored several churches in East Texas and Waco. While in Waco, Vivian worked at Baylor University in both the book store and business office. After retirement, they pastored at Woodbury Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Stanley Lohsel; three children, Darla Jean and husband, Paul Etter, Joy Delane Lohse, and Jason Stanley Lohse and wife, Jenny; four grandchildren Trey James Etter and wife, Rebecca, Jaida Lohse, Naomi Lohse, and Eli Lohse; and one great-granddaughter, Abigail Etter.
