W. H. Dawson

Herb was born March 2, 1917 in Bellville, Texas to William Henry and Anna Edwards Dawson. Being raised in Bellville, he also lived in the Midland, Fort Stockton, and Hillsboro areas most of his life. For 20 years he worked for the Borden Company before going into business for himself. He was the owner and operator of The Gandy?s Dairies Distributorship serving Fort Stockton for 17 years, retiring in 1980. On March 29, 1941 he married Jimmie Lois Frasure in Brenham and she preceded him in death on September 25, 1993. Mr. Dawson was a member of the First Baptist Church in Hillsboro and Lion?s Club in Midland, Fort Stockton, and Whitney. Survivors include; three children, Judy Darsey of Albuquerque, NM, Caroline Littlefield of Port Townsend, WA, and Michael Dawson and wife, Jerri, of Mesquite; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
