Wade Riddle

Wade Riddle, 99, of Whitney passed away on Friday, March 9, 2018, in Clifton. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, March 14, 2018, at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Whitney. Brother Stephen McCoy will officiate. A visitation will be held from 1:00-2:00 PM prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Bethlehem Cemetery.

Wade was born on July 19, 1918 in Rogers, Texas to John Jesse and Mary (Karl) Riddle, Jr. He married Judy Dunn on August 11, 1943 in Waco, Texas.

Wade worked as a heavy equipment operator and mechanic. He helped build the Whitney dam and retired from the R.T. Swilling Company at the age of 62. He was an avid hunter and loved to fish. He enjoyed life and never met a stranger.

Preceding in death were his parents, daughters, Joyce and Judy and two great-grandchildren, Joshua and Isaac DeWeese.

Survivors include his wife, Judy Riddle of Whitney; daughters, Peggy Wilson and husband, Greg, of Waxahachie and Sandra Gallagher and husband, Kenny, of Cleburne; grandchildren, Donnie Penney, Lisa Davis, and Sherry DeWeese; 10 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
