Walker Smith passed away on July 24, 2005 in Hillsboro. He was the son of Charlie and Lillie Mae Rose Smith. He served in the Navy during World War II and the Korean War. He married Ella Belle Morin on January 4, 1946 and she preceded him in death on August 31, 1993. Walker went to work for Chance Vaught Aircraft which later became LTV for 30 years; retiring in 1976. He had lived in Lamar County for 21 years; Arlington for 30 years and had lived in Whitney since 1976; where he was a avid fisherman. He was a member of Randol Mill Baptist Church in Arlington. Preceding him in death were his parents; grandson; 6 brothers and 5 sisters. Survivors include his children, Walker Smith, Jr. and wife, Betty of Whitney, Jerry Wayne Brown and wife, Lola of Granbury, Robert Charles Brown and wife, Linda of Gilmer; brother, Stanley ?Dicky? Smith of Houma, Louisiana; sisters, Charlene Foot of Tobaccoville, California, Edith Stephenson of Paris, 6 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews
