Walter Mcclure

Walter Lee McClure, 82, of Blooming Grove passed away on December 9, 2014 in Hillsboro. Memorial services will be scheduled at a later date.

Walter was born in Navarro County on February 4, 1932 to Joe E. and Myrtle (Willingham) McClure. He graduated from Frost High School and also attended Navarro College. During the Korean conflict, he proudly served his country in the U. S. Navy. He was a member of Frost United Methodist Church. Walter was married to Martha Orm.

Preceding him in death were his parents; three children, Douglas Keith McClure, Paula Dyan Dupuis and Phillip Andrew McClure; two brothers, Alton and J. W. McClure; and a sister, Bobbie Jean Green.

Walter is survived by his son, Jerry McClure of Dallas; four sisters, Katie Walters and Lillian Thomas, both of Blooming Grove, Dorothy Garvin of Lancaster, and Callie Harris of Frost; sister-in-law, Velma McClure of Blooming Grove; and five grandchildren, Katie, Carleigh, Robert, Sondra, and Tayana.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Youth Group of White Rock United Methodist Church; 1450 Old Gate Lane; Dallas, TX 75218.
