Walton Ward

Walton Ward, 78, of Whitney went to be with the Lord on Sunday, Nov. 12, 2006 in the Whitney Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was born on Nov. 23, 1927 in Hill County, the son of Stanley and Ollie McGuire Ward. Walton was instrumental in the forming of the Whitney Ministerial Alliance and a proud member of the Bricklayers Local #6 union in Fort Worth. He met and married Betty Mahurin on Aug. 12, 1951. He was an avid rancher, gardener, fisherman and 42 player. He was a deacon in the Baptist Church and a trustee of the Nazarene Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers and 2 sisters. Survivors include his wife, Betty of 55 years; son, Winston Ward and wife, Teresa of Whitney; daughter, Pam Bean and husband, John of Whitney and son, Chad Ward and wife Sonya of Cleburne. Beloved grandchildren, Jason Huish and wife, Christine of Whitney, Sloan Tobin and husband, Kevin of Wiley, Breanna and Jacy Ward of Cleburne and one great grandson, Isaac.
