Wanda Faye Banner, 90, of San Antonio, TX, passed away Wednesday, April 17, 2024. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 27, 2024, at Whitney Memorial Park in Whitney.
Wanda was born September 29, 1933, in (Prairie Valley) Whitney, Texas, the daughter of Ab Arthur and Mary Etta (Yale) Harris. On October 3, 1953, she married her “boyfriend”, Charles Banner. They were married 52 years, raised their family in Dallas and moved to Hillsboro after Charles’ retirement. After his death, Wanda moved to San Antonio in 2009 so she could be near her family.
As the best wife, Mother and MaMa, putting God foremost, she raised her family with unconditional love, grace and resiliency. We are going to miss Mom but we thank God for his mercy and for giving us peace in knowing she is walking with HIM and loved ones she hasn’t seen in a long time. She has a perfectly healed body and is free of pain. We will, one day, be with her again! Love you Mom
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Roy Banner (76) on March 16, 2005; two sons, Larry Dale Banner (23) on December 13, 1981 and Charles Don Banner (66) on February 13, 2022; her Mother and Dad; 7 brothers; and 2 sisters.
Mom will be greatly missed by her daughter, Tricia Banner of San Antonio; son, Rusty Banner of San Antonio; six grandchildren, Charlie Banner of Washington State, Ryan Banner of Washington State, Leah Banner of Florida, Rowdy Banner of Austin, Lily Banner of San Antonio, and James Banner of San Antonio; two great-grandchildren, Ellie Banner and Seth Banner, both of Washington State; and her 2 “Babies”, Lila and Lucy (her puppies).
With Mom’s soft spot for all children, we suggest donations be made to St Jude.
