Wanda Ruth (Oliver) Halbert

Wanda Ruth (Oliver) Halbert passed away Wednesday, January 12, 2022, in Grandview, Texas.  A graveside service will take place at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, January 19, 2022, at Peoria Cemetery in Peoria, Texas.  Visitation will take place from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Tuesday, January 18, 2022, at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors in Hillsboro, Texas.

Wanda was born on December 8, 1935, to Gilmore and Carrie Gertrude (Ramsey) Oliver, in Stratford, Oklahoma.  She married Fate Vernice Halbert on September 1, 1951, and they owned and operated an automobile repair service together.  Wanda also worked for Haggar in Waxahachie and Harbison Fisher.  Her hobbies included waterskiing, travel, photography, and gardening.  Wanda also loved cats.

In addition to her parents, Wanda was preceded in death by her husband, Fate Halbert; her brothers, Bobby Joe Oliver, Jessie James Oliver, Billy Joe Oliver, and Harlen Ray Oliver; and her sister, Luevon Cochran.  She is survived by her sister, Retha Faye Lewis and her husband, Calvin; her stepdaughter, Edna Maberry; two sisters in law; and several nieces and nephews.
