Wanda Kelm Pustejovsky

Our loving wife, mom, mother-in-law, grandma, sister, daughter-in-law, sister-in-law, aunt, niece, cousin, and friend Wanda Kelm Pustejovsky, 59, of Abbott went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, September 26, 2020, at Providence Health Care Center in Waco.  Rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 29, at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Hillsboro with visitation to follow until 8:00 p.m.  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 30, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Abbott with Father Brijil Lawrence and Father Stephen Nesrsta as celebrants.  Burial will follow at Fatima Cemetery in Abbott.

Wanda was born on October 20, 1960, in Hillsboro to Samuel “Sam” Paul Otto and Julia Masqulene “Mac” (Jones) Kelm.  She grew up on the family farm just outside of Malone.  Wanda and her family spent many a day helping with chores around the farm.  Her favorite memory of doing chores was feeding cows in the snow.

She was a 1979 graduate of Bynum High School.  While in high school, Wanda was in need of a date to the prom and a friend introduced her to a handsome young man named Charlie Pustejovsky from Abbott.  This introduction struck a spark and on April 26, 1980, Wanda and Charlie were united in marriage at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Abbott.  For the next 40 years, they built a wonderful and loving family and life together.

During her younger years, Wanda was employed at Hillsboro Monument Works in Hillsboro.  After getting married, she kept children in her home for a time and later worked at the Turkey Shop and the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, both in Abbott.  For the last 15 plus years, she was employed at Wal-Mart in Hillsboro.

Wanda loved her family more than anything and spending time with them brought her great joy.  Spoiling her grandbabies and teaching them how to do different things, especially in the kitchen, made her so happy. Wanda was an exceptional cook.  She loved everything about Christmas, from decorating to cooking and making her family smile. Wanda and Charlie made many happy memories camping together even though it rained every time. They have grown a garden together for many years.

She was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Abbott, where she enjoyed singing in the choir.  She was also a member of the West ACTS community.  Wanda loved to go on ACTS Retreats and ministering to others.  She had a very big heart.

Preceding her in death were her parents; sister, Barbara Padgett; brother, Billy Kelm; brothers-in-law, Ronnie Adams and Denny Padgett; nephew, Jimmy Neal; and nieces, Kelm twin girls.

Survivors include her loving husband of 40 years and 5 months, Charlie Pustejovsky of Abbott; sons, Dale Pustejovsky and wife, Julie, of Imperial and Michael Pustejovsky and wife, Crystal, of Bynum; grandchildren, Avery, Abigail, Gunner, and Remington Pustejovsky, all of Imperial, Matthew Hausman of Denton, and Brandon and Gracelyn Collins, both of Bynum; sisters, Retha Adams of Aquilla and Joyce Canales and husband, Robert, of Kyle; brothers, Danny Kelm and wife, Avalon, of Bynum and Sammy Kelm and wife, Donna, of Arlington; mother and father-in-law, Mary and Johnnie Pustejovsky of Abbott; brothers and sisters-in-law, Agnes Timmons and husband, Terry, Ed Pustejovsky, Ben Pustejovsky, Ernie Pustejovsky, Nick Pustejovsky and wife, Shelly, Bobby Pustejovsky and wife, Traci, and Andy Pustejovsky and wife, Joanie, all of Abbott; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
