Wanda Wilkins

Wanda Sue Wilkins, 70 of Whitney went home to be with her Lord and Savior after a courageous battle with cancer on Sept. 10, 2009 at her residence. Wanda Sue was born on December 1, 1938 in Dallas and grew up there. She was the daughter of the late Olvis and Lula Mae McFarland Martin. On February 13, 1960, she married Fred Wilkins and after 42 years of marriage he preceded her in death on November 7, 2002. She and Fred retired moved to Whitney to be near the lake where they enjoyed fishing and camping. Wanda was a member of the Abiding Life Assembly of God Church in Whitney. She is survived by her children, Louann Maynard and husband, Ken of Glen Rose, Billy Allen and wife, Kim of Keene, Peggy Fergason and husband, Roy Paul of Cleburne, Sandy Earlston of Whitney, Lee Burkeen and husband , Jerry of Arlington; brother Tucker Hanson of Palestine; sisters, Sandy Weimer of Graham, Debra Fucci of Arizona; 10 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
