Wayne Toots Bearden, 85, of Hillsboro died Thursday, April 8, 2010, at Providence Health Care Center in Waco. Wayne was born October 26, 1924 in the Mountain View Community in Hill County, son of the late Loyd Benton and Ollie Jane Spear Bearden. He grew up in Hill County most of his life. During WWII, Wayne served his country in the U. S. Army in the Phillippines and the mainland of Japan. On October 7, 1950 he married Ann Juanell Wilkerson and they had been married for 59½ years. He was a farmer and rancher most of his life. For several years he worked at International Harvester and Tipton International in Hillsboro and was a rural mail carrier. He was a member of Line Street United Methodist Church in Hillsboro, where he served in all capacities during his membership. He was also a member of the Farm Bureau Committee, a 4-H leader, and worked with the Hill County Extension Office for 30 plus years as a Livestock Committee member. Also preceding him in death was his daughter, Ann Farquhar, and brother, Benton Bearden. Survivors include his wife, Ann Juanell Bearden of Hillsboro; son, James Bearden and wife, Karen, of Hillsboro; son-in-law, Scott Farquhar and wife, Susan, of Cleburne; brother, Barney Bearden and wife, Norma, of Hillsboro; and four grandchildren, Zach Farquhar and wife, Amy, Seth Farquhar, Nancy Bearden, and Rebecca Bearden. Memorials may be made to Line Street United Methodist Church, 304 Line Street, Hillsboro, TX 76645.
