Wayne Black

Wayne Black 65, of Whitney passed away on Friday, December 7, 2018 in Waco. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, December 10, 2018 at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Whitney with Pastor Shane Metcalf officiating. A visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 AM prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Whitney Memorial Park.

Wayne was born on September 15, 1953 in Dallas, Texas to Harvey Ray and Evelyn Joyce (Cummins) Black. He grew up in Grand Prairie and graduated from Grand Prairie High School in 1971. On October 30, 1982 Wayne was united in marriage to Jana Carole Cearley in Grand Prairie, after getting married he earned his Associates degree from Hill College in computer science. Wayne worked for Whitney I.S.D. for 2 years in maintenance and then went to work for White Bluff Resort where he worked for the past 9 years. In his younger days he was an avid motorcycle buff and rode every chance he got. Wayne also enjoyed fishing, listening to all types of music and was an animal lover. He was of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents and father-in-law Ronny Cearley.

Survivors include his wife, Jana Cearley Black of Whitney; son, Nathan Kyle Pass of Whitney; mother-in-law Faye Cearley of Clifton and aunts, uncles and other relatives and friends.
