Wayne Bledsoe, 84, of Hillsboro passed away Monday, August 8, 2011, at Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center in Waco. Graveside services will be held at Noon Thursday, August 11, at Peoria Cemetery in Peoria with Rev. Joe Bob Boyd officiating. Visitation will be from 9-11 a.m. Thursday at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors in Hillsboro.
Wayne was born November 26, 1926 in Peoria to the late Clarence Craig and Mildred Virginia (Routh) Bledsoe. During WWII, he served his country in the United States Navy with the SeaBees in the Philippines. In 1947 he married Wanda Laverne Blackburn and she preceded him in death on February 11, 1970. He later married Eva Bledsoe in 1972. For many years, he was a farmer and rancher in Peoria and Cranfills Gap and he also worked at Certainteed for 10 years. He was a member of the Peoria Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Eva Bledsoe, of Cranfills Gap; three sons, Larry Bledsoe and wife, Paulette, and David Bledsoe and wife, Treva, all of Peoria, and Bobby Bledsoe and wife, Janie, of Harlingen; three step-sons, Preston Bledsoe and wife, Dee Dee, of Cedar Creek Lake, Tom Bledsoe and wife, Melissa, of Whitney, and Mike Bledsoe and wife, Darla, of Joshua; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and one great-great granddaughter.

The family would like to invite everyone to a lucheon at the Peoria Community Center immediately following the graveside service on Thursday.
