Wayne Edmondson


Wayne was born on Feb. 24, 1931 in Amarillo, the son of the late Lee and Lyda Cox Edmondson. He grew up and attended school in Amarillo. In 1948, he joined the United States Navy. After the Navy he worked for Plains Creamery until he purchased a milk distributorship which he operated for nearly 30 years. After selling the business to his son, the couple moved to Arlington and opened Gold Collection Fine Jewelry and continued the business for over 15 years until his retirement. He moved to Laguna Park in 1990 and enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening. Wayne was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. He was a member of the Washington Ave. Christian Church in Amarillo. He also was a member in Canyon of the Jaycees, Chamber of Commerce, West Texas State University booster club and was past president of Kwanis Club. He was also preceded in death by his son, Richard Leslie Edmondson, one brother and one sister. Survivors include his wife, Pat of Laguna Park; children, Don Edmondson of Laguna Park, Kendall Edmondson and wife, Teri of Joshua, Brad Edmondson and wife, Shelly of Laguna Park; daughter-in-law, Nicci Edmondson of Clarksville, Tenn,; brother, Arthur Lee Edmondson of Ogden City, Utah; sister, Barbara Cooksey of Hawaii; sister and brother-in-law, Marilyn and James Williamson of Fort Worth; six grandchildren, Chrysti Stoval and husband, Jamie, Jesse Edmondson and wife, Deanna, Tyler Edmondson and Wife, Valerie, Stephen Edmondson, Chelsie Edmondson, Taryn Edmondson; 9 great grandchildren, Harley, Jordan, Briggan, Tacoma, Blake, Talyn, Tate, Tyler and Jarret Edmondson. The family wishes to express their appreciation to the staff at the Sunset Home for their loving concern and excellent care.
