Wayne Gant

Wayne Gant passed away Friday, February 26, 2021, in Temple, Texas. He will Lie in State on Monday, March 1, 2021 from 9:00am – 7:00pm at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors in Hillsboro, Texas. Funeral services will be Tuesday, March 2, 2021 at 3:00 pm at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors with Pastor Stephen Burnett officiating. Burial will be at Peoria Cemetery in Peoria, Texas. Facial masks and social distancing are required.

Wayne was born July 5, 1950, to Bartley and Wanda (Carmichael) Gant. He grew up in Whitney and graduated form Whitney High School. He then attended Tarleton State University and received his degree in Agriculture. Wayne was united in marriage to the love of his life, Billie Bond on April 16, 1992 in Hillsboro. Wayne was an insurance agent for American National Insurance Company for 29.5 years until he retired. He was an avid football fan especially loved the Houston Texans and Texas A&M Aggies. Wayne was very good at predicting football statistics and events that were going to happen in the world.

Wayne was preceded by his parents, Wanda and Bart Gant, daughter; Cindy Gant, brother in laws; John Bond, Larry Bond, Bill Waldrop, and mother in law; Mary Janet Farquhar.

He is survived by the love of his life, Billie Gant, daughter; Nesha Mayes and husband Richard, brother; Mike Gant, sisters; Martha Redding and husband Jerry, Carolyn Waldrop, sister in law; Tonnie Bond, pet companion; Spanky, and several nieces and nephews.
