Wendell Neal, 67, of Penelope passed away Monday, March 9, 2015, in a Dallas hospital. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, March 12, 2015, at Christ Lutheran Church in Hillsboro with Rev. Michael Nemec officiating. Burial will follow at Ridge Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 11, 2015, at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors in Hillsboro.

Wendell was born June 23, 1947 in Hemphill, TX to Durwood and Billie Sue (Dickey) Neal. On January 29, 1979, he was united in marriage to Linda Howard in Durant, OK. For 32 years he was a parts salesman at Bailey Implement in Hillsboro, now Brazos Valley Equipment, retiring in 2011. Wendell loved gardening, fishing, traveling, and listening to Bluegrass music. He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Hillsboro. Preceding him in death were his parents.

Survivors include his loving wife of 36 years, Linda Neal of Penelope; two daughters, Debbie Hawthorne and husband, Brandon, of Mt. Calm and Jennifer Hogan and husband, Stacey, of Malone; sister, Patricia Neal of Arcadia; and four grandchildren, Sidney Holland, Natalie Hogan, Mallorie Hogan, and Nicholas Hogan.

Memorials may be made to Christ Lutheran Church, 915 Corsicana Hwy., Hillsboro, TX 76645.
