Wilbert E. Lucko, 84, of Penelope, Texas, passed away Sunday, September 15, 2024, in Temple, Texas. Funeral service will take place at 10:00 am, Friday, September 20, 2024, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Hillsboro. A burial will follow at Penelope Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, Thursday, September 19, 2024, at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors, Hillsboro.
Born in Irene, Texas, on August 26, 1940, to Alfred and Augusta (Loewe) Lucko, he was raised in Penelope, Texas. Wilbert quit school to become a heavy equipment operator and mechanic. Later in life He married Hallie Croft, and they continued to make their home in Penelope, Texas . Wilbert served in the United States Army for two years in the early 1960s prior to the Vietnam War.
Preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Hallie Lucko; brother, Alvis Lucko; sister-in-law, Mary Lou Lucko; and nephew, Ronald Lucko, Wilbert is survived by one son, Radney Lucko and his girlfriend, Debi McKamie, and Grandson Dylan Lucko, Granddaughters Tania McDaniel and Trish Rash; his longtime lady friend, Linda Fisk; nephew, James Lucko; nieces, Mary Joyce Pesak, and Cynthia Burns; great grandchildren, Belle & Anna Lucko, Skye Barak, Kameryn Barak, Shayne McDaniel, Alexis Nowell, and Warren Furches; numerous step-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
