Will was the son of Price Witt and Della Mae Simpson Furnish. He married Dorothy "Dot" Webster on August 24, 1940 in Owen County, Kentucky. Mr. Furnish was a Veteran of World War II, enlisting on April 29, 1943 at Lexington, Kentucky; serving with the 901st Signal Company, 25th Air Depot Group Signal Corps in the U.S. Army. He received the American Theater Service Ribbon, Asiatic Pacific Theater Service Ribbon with one Bronze Star, the Good Conduct Medal, a Meritorious Unit Award, and World War II Victory Medal. He was honorably discharged as Staff Sergeant on December 23, 1945 at Fort Knox, Kentucky. He was an electrician having worked for International Telephone and Telegraph for 35 years retiring in 1972. He had lived in Whitney for the past six years. He was a member of the Jonesville, Kentucky Masonic Lodge and Eastern Star. He was of the Nazarene faith. Survivors: wife, Dorothy "Dot" Furnish of Whitney; son, Thomas R. Furnish of Whitney; adopted children, Cheryl "Candy" Barnett and Jerry Lee Barnett of Whitney. Four grandchildren: Lee Michael Furnish, Nancy Furnish, Andrew Furnish, an adopted granddaughter, Amanda "Charlie Brown" Barnett all of Whitney.
