Will Hope

Will Hope 80, of Whitney passed away on Friday, March 12, 2021 in Ft. Worth. A funeral service under the direction of Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors of Whitney will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, March 18, 2021 at Cedar Creek Baptist Church with Pastor Ricky Gobert, Pastor Wade Yarbro and Mr. Rob Beasley officiating. Burial will follow at Whitney Memorial Park. A visitation will be held from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm on Wednesday, March 17, 2021 at the funeral home in Whitney.

Will was born on April 22, 1940 to Clarence Yeager and Ira Della (Morrison) Hope. He grew up in Corsicana and attended school there after high school he attended Navarro Junior College. On January 19, 1976 he was united in marriage to Edna Kay Long, she preceded him in death on April 27, 2005.Will was a very faithful and active member of Cedar Creek Baptist Church. He loved to work and was always fixing something. He had a love for people and was always willing to help anyone in need. Will enjoyed fishing and reading also watching his grand children’s many activities, he also was an avid Texas Longhorn fan. He served his country in the United States Army from June 1, 1960 and was honorably discharged on April 20, 1966.

Preceding him in death was his wife, Kay Hope, his parents and seven siblings.

He is survived by his son, Douglas Wayne Hope and wife, Ahleasha; daughter, Kristi “Rene” Burrows and husband, Gary; brother, Clarence Yeager Hope and wife, Anita; sister, Linda Anderson; grandchildren, Tyler Hope, Colby Hope, Nathan Burrows, Kaylynn Burrows.
