Willard Pond

Willard Junior Pond, 77, of Corsicana died Saturday, August 2, 2008, at Navarro Regional Hospital in Corsicana. Williard was born April 1, 1931 in Lott, Texas the son of Willard Hampton and Beulah Mae McGill Pond. On June 16, 1951 he married Irene Pitts in Lott and she preceded him in death on March 4, 2000. In 1982 he retired from East Texas Motor Company as a truck driver. He loved to hunt and fish. He was a member of the Piney Woods VFW Post #4816 in Porter and of the Baptist faith. Also preceding him in death were his parents; three brothers, Joe Duncan Pond, Delbert Glen Pond, and John Henry Pond; two sisters, Wilma Louise Nealey and Elsie Mae Scott; a grandson, Jessie Garrett; and a granddaughter, Vickie Hill. Survivors include four children, Bonnie Sue Garrett of Irene, Willard Edward Pond and wife, Jodie, of Centerville, Walter Wayne Pond of Malone, James William Pond and wife, Chrissie, of Onalaska, TX; brother, James Clinton Pond of Crystal Beach, TX; 14 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and 18 great-great grandchildren.
