William L. "Bill" Burton age 77 of Whitney died July 2, 2005 in Whitney. He was born August 18, 1927 the son of William L. and Bess Eloise Egan Burton, Sr. Bill lived most of his life in the Dallas area and graduated from Crozier Tech in 1945. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII in the Pacific Theater. Bill married Theresa August on November 19, 1984 in Pennsylvania. He worked as a property regional manager for the Rhode Cooperation for 9 years retiring in 1989. After Bill retired he returned to the Dallas area, before moving to Whitney in 2003, to be close to the lake for boating and fishing. He was of the Baptist faith and a member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary of Whitney. His hobbies were collecting lighthouses and fishing. He was always there for anybody that needed help and espeically loved children. Survivors include: wife, Theresa daughter: Pamela Wilson and husband, Kenneth; son: William Lawrence Burton III and wife, Irene. Two adopted sons: Tracy Burton and Mike Burton. Four grandchildren: Richard Burton, Peggy Farrell, Geoffrey Wilson and Matthew Wilson. Four great-grandchildren: Tony Burton, Stephen Farrell, Alena Farrell, Emma Wilson and a much loved cousin, Margaret Williams. Memorials may be made to: American Heart Association P.O.
