William Crawford

William Bill Matthew Crawford, 85, of Laguna Park, Texas passed away at his home on November 26, 2007. He was the son of John William and Merzuery Shetley Crawford. He served in the South Pacific in the United States Navy during World War II. He was past commander of the Whitney V. F. W. Post #8571and past president of the Optimist club in Abilene. Bill married Ruby Matlock on January 18, 1946 in Fort Worth, Texas and they celebrated 61 years of marriage this year. He also had a big celebration for his 85th birthday. He had worked as a vacuum cleaner salesman for Electrolux for 20 years. He was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene. Preceding him in death were his parents, 4 brothers and 5 sisters. Survivors include his wife, Ruby of Laguna Park; children, Patricia Ann Smith and husband, Marion of Laguna Park, Brad Crawford and wife, Patsy of Lewisville; grandchildren, Dale Lee Crawford of Beaumont, Cody Ray Crawford of Lewisville and Amie Diane Smith of Waco.
