William Desmond Jr

William Robert "Willie" Desmond, Jr., 83 of Whitney died on July 23, 2005 at his residence. He was the son of William Robert Desmond, Sr. and Annie Elizabeth Holden Desmond, growing up and attending schools in Fort Worth. William married Sallie LaVerne Taylor on May 28, 1948. After serving in the U S Navy as Seaman First Class, he worked at Texas Steel Company for 43 years retiring in 1981, then moved to Whitney in 1982. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Paul Edward Desmond and a sister Martha Kowitz. Survivors include his wife, Sallie LaVerne Desmond at Town Hall Estates in Whitney and a sister, Lucille Lightfoot of Keene
