William Hartis

William M. "Bill" Hartis, 90, of Clifton passed away Thursday, October 14, 2004 in Clifton. He was the fourth child of M. V. William and Myrtle Irene Whalen Hartis. Bill married Clara Mae McCain and was a retired business owner and rancher. He was a member of the Church of Christ in Glen Rose, Texas. He was laid to rest beside his parents and brother and sister whom he deeply respected. His family was a part of the founding fathers of Aquilla and were longstanding member of the local Church of Christ. Bill grew up attending church and was baptized at the age of 15. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; sisters, Evelyn Hartis and Essie Marie Grammar; brother, Ervin Buster Hartis and son, William Harley Hartis. Survivors include his daughter, Barbara Sullivan of Springtown; son, Kenneth Hartis of Fairfield; 6 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
