William Simpson

William Travis Simpson, 32, of Bynum passed away Tuesday, June 17, 2014, at Providence Health Care Center in Waco. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, June 21, 2014, at Abbott Cemetery near Abbott with Mr. Glen MacDonald of Hillsboro Church of Christ officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, June 19, 2014, at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors in Hillsboro.

William was born May 8, 1982 in Waco to Edward Glenn and Susan Kay (Curtis) Simpson. A 2001 graduate of Bynum High School, he served as a sports manager during all four years of high school. An avid sports lover, William followed many teams including Baylor, Texas A&M, and the Dallas Cowboys. A faithful Christian, he loved his Lord and Savior unconditionally. He was a dedicated volunteer with Hillsboro Interfaith Ministries, Hill Regional Hospital, Senior Circle, and at the Senior Citizens Center. He was a member of Senior Circle and was of the Church of Christ faith. Preceding him in death were his grandfathers, Eddie Tom Curtis and John Underwood and a great-aunt, Dorothy C. Gaines.

Survivors include his father, Glenn Simpson of McGregor; mother, Susan Curtis Simpson of Waco; grandmothers, Esta Lee Curtis of Waco, Linda Curtis of Itasca, and Donna Underwood of McGregor; aunts, Carla, Charline, Donann, Missy, Becky, and Tresa; uncle, Tom; cousins, Chad, Rhiannon, Megan, Danielle, and Kevin; great-aunts, Theda and Anita; and dear friends, Carleen and George Harris, Rick and Nancy Stevens, and Betty and Debbie Elmore.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Quality Care Nursing and Rehab and Providence ICU for their loving and compassionate care.
