William Waits


William ?Bill? Waits, 66, of Hillsboro died Thursday, June 22, 2006 at his residence. Bill was born December 30, 1939 in Meridian, Texas the son of Travis and Frances Cappers Waits. At the age of 15 he entered the National Guard and was promoted to Sergeant within six months. On January 28, 1955 he married Betty Freeman in Hillsboro. They lived in Fort Worth following their marriage until moving to Hillsboro in 1990. Bill was a master electrician for 37 years. He worked for Blackburn Electric before starting Day & Night Electric in 1972. Bill enjoyed riding motorcycles and was an avid outdoorsman. He was proud of being a licensed gun owner and trained marksman. He attended Walnut Street Baptist Church in Hillsboro. Bill was a very loving husband, excellent father, loyal, and a man of his word. Preceding him in death was a grandson, Brandon Leach. Survivors include his wife, Betty Waits of Hillsboro; mother & father, Frances and Travis Waits of Hillsboro; children, Billy Travis Waits of Hillsboro; Vickey Lou McCammon and husband, Owen, of Haltom City, Patricia Gail Leach and husband, David, of Hillsboro, Jackie Lyn Williams and husband, Eddie Wade, of Haltom City; brother, Ronald Gene Waits of Crowley; sisters, Joyce Thomas and Lucille Waits both of Hillsboro; 18 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Walnut Street Baptist Church, P. O. Box 1144, Hillsboro, TX 76645.
