Willis Jordon

Willis Henry Jordon, 78, of Hillsboro passed away Thursday, November 23, 2017, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident along with his granddaughter, Rebecca Jordon. A joint funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 30, at the Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Hillsboro with Mr. Glen MacDonald officiating. Burial will follow at Younger Cemetery. Joint visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 29, at the funeral home.

Born September 18, 1939 in Stephenville, he was the son of Lester Weldon and Emma Dallie (Cude) Jordon. He grew up in the Blum area and attended school in Blum and Odessa. For three years, he served his country in the United States Army. On August 4, 1961, Henry was united in marriage to Shirley Burks. She preceded him in death on May 5, 1997.

Henry worked for C. O. Bruce Dairy and Cletex Trucking in Cleburne, before retiring from Tuttle and Tuttle as a mechanic and truck driver in 2013. In his spare time, he enjoyed being outdoors and tinkering in the yard. His family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandson brought the greatest love and joy to him. He was of the Baptist faith.

Also preceding him in death were his parents; three children, Jelina Carlisle, Russell Jordon, and Willis Scott Jordon; another granddaughter, Heather Jordon; three brothers, Lester, Tim, and Charles Jordon; and a sister, Ethel Woods.

Survivors include his daughter, Dawn Kline and husband, Randy, of Itasca; brother, Richard Jordon and wife, Glenda, of Hillsboro; three grandchildren, Brenda Leigh Losey and husband, Michael, of Hillsboro and Jaycee and Matthew Carlisle both of Blum; great-grandson, Evan Conner Losey, of Hillsboro; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
