Winford Brown

Winford “Wimpy” “PawPaw” Brown, 86, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday evening, October 19, 2015, in the loving care of his wife, Bonnie, great friend, Margie and Mission Hospice. A graveside service will be held at 12 noon on Thursday, October 22, 2015, at Whitney Memorial Park, with Dr. Allan Lane, officiating. A visitation will be held on Thursday, from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., prior to the service, at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors in Whitney.

Winford was born on September 21, 1929, in Lindale. A hard working man, he retired from General Motors after more than 30 years of service. He loved working in his garage, taking care of his yard, hunting and fishing. Any time you saw him, he would have vanilla wafers in his shirt pocket. He was always a joyous, upbeat person and you just couldn’t help but laugh and share in his joy when you were around him. His family was his pride and joy.


He is survived by and will be missed by his wife, Bonnie Brown; son Carl Brown; grandchildren, James Brown, Becky Brown and her fiancé, Mike Valeri; great-grandchild, Maddison Brown; and many nieces and nephews.
