Winston Matheus

Winston P. Matheus, 97, of Fort Worth passed away Monday, March 7, 2016, at Harris Methodist Hospital in Fort Worth. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 11, at Peoria Cemetery.

Winston was born June 28, 1918 in Gurdon, Arkansas to Elliott and Serepta Jane (Johnson) Matheus. He lived in White Settlement most of his life and lived around the Whitney area for 25 years. On June 13, 1942, he married Doris Sanders in Whitney and she preceded him in death on February 15, 2005. For many years, he worked at General Dynamics/Lockheed. Winston was a member of First Baptist Church in White Settlement, VFW #1756 in White Settlement, and DAV Blue Bonnett Branch.

Also preceding him in death were his parents and all 9 of his siblings.

Survivors include his three daughters, Linda Reynolds and husband, Bobby, of Azle, Peggy McNair and husband, Bob, and Rebecca Perkins, all of Fort Worth; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
