W.L. Sanders

W.L. Sanders passed away peacefully at his home in Whitney, Texas, on February 17, 2025, by God’s grace. He is survived by his beloved wife of 27 years, Christine, and their three children: Sheldon Sanders (Christina Sanders), Jessica Hull and C.J. Hull (Kristi Hull). He also leaves behind eight cherished grandchildren: Daniel, Hunter, Michiah, Justice, Baylee, Charlee, Finley and Mason. W.L. was preceded in death by his parents, Everett and Sarah Sanders, and his siblings, Harry Callahan, Lawrence Sanders, Eugene Dewayne Sanders, and Edith Callahan.

W.L. was a man of profound faith, devoted to his family, God, and his country. After retiring, he dedicated his life to serving and advocating for “The Least of These,” glorifying God through his actions.

His service will take place at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Home in Whitney, Texas, on Monday, February 24, 2025, at 10:00 AM, with a visitation on Sunday, February 23, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. His interment will be held at Osage Cemetery, west of Crawford, Texas, with close family and friends, where he will rest alongside several members of his extended family.

In lieu of flowers, W.L. requested that those wishing to honor his memory make generous donations to Texans on Mission, Catholic Relief Services or Paralyzed Veterans of America - Texas Chapter, in the name of Jesus Christ.
